Emergency Management is responsible for preparation for and coordination of emergency response.

If a catastrophic event occurred in the Guadalupe or Comal River Basins below Canyon Lake Dam and the many dry dams that surround New Braunfels, would you be prepared? Could you take care of yourself, family, friends or neighbors? What would it require for you to live without emergency assistance for 72 to 96 hours?

Many types of possible disaster incidents have been identified and have occurred in the City of New Braunfels and Comal County and the severity of a future occurrence could be catastrophic.

The City of New Braunfels Office of Emergency Management’s mission is to ensure that the community is aware of the potential disasters that may impact the area in the future and to inform the public of evacuation routes, suggested emergency supplies and plans to initiate in the event that all forms of communication are knocked out.

This web site is just one of many tools that the City of New Braunfels Office of Emergency Management uses to inform our residents and visitors of impending threats as well as to provide general information and updates. Check here often for new information about how you can be prepared in the event of an emergency. See the links below for helpful planning tools.
