Economic Development
Overview
The City of New Braunfels contracts with the Chamber of Commerce to conduct economic development activities in order to encourage business attraction, retention, and expansion. Incentives that may be provided by the City can include tax abatements and infrastructure assistance. Please contact Rusty Brockman, Economic Development Director at the Chamber of Commerce, (830) 625-2385.

The Chamber has launched a new, interactive GIS webpage which provides detailed site and demographic information. Check out the New Braunfels Chamber of Commerce Website and contact Rusty for further information about any specific sites.

In order to encourage retail development in New Braunfels, the City completed a study of the retail expenditures and opportunities in the market area. This study provided a summary of the expenditures of residents in the area, such as the amount of clothing, household goods, and groceries purchased by a typical household and created profiles for the population. These profiles were then matched to certain types of businesses that operate in markets the size of New Braunfels and that serve the purchasing needs of the residents. The City intends to use this information to develop communication with not only the businesses which were identified through the study, but also with other businesses who might benefit from locating in the area.

This market analysis provides information that would be useful to all businesses considering development in New Braunfels. A CD is available through the City or the Chamber of Commerce.

Please find further information including updated City economic information and incentives at the Chamber of Commerce website. Thank you for your interest in our City!
