Zoning / Special Use Permits
Purpose
The purpose of zoning land in the City of New Braunfels is to promote the health, safety, and general welfare of the public. Zoning districts and regulations are established to:
  • Maintain land use compatibility
  • Provide fire separation
  • Prevent overcrowding of land
  • Ensure adequate light and air
  • Guarantee sufficient transportation, utilities, parks and other public facilities to accommodate growth

Descriptions of the various zoning districts are available in the Zoning Ordinance.

Zoning of a particular property may be obtained from the Planning Division (830-221-4050) or on the Interactive GIS Map.

Using the Interactive GIS Map
  1. Zoom in to your subject property or use the Toolbox menu to search for an address.
  2. Click on the yellow folder next to Planning Layers to open it.
  3. Click the check box for Zoning.

Note: The Land Use layer indicates current use of the land and is not zoning.
